Shadow passed away in my arms at 11 p.m. tonight at the ripe old age of 18 years.

I think Smudge sleeps here most days. My boys are 18 now and they are slowing down. This must feel really good for his old bones, especially given recent temps here. Brrr.

I'm thinking Little Miss put the cat toys there though. That's not Smudge's M.O..

Showing Off a Cherished Gift

My stepson received this hat, mitts and scarf from my mom years ago. They still come in handy in cold temps. He loves them!

Starting Again: January 1

Let's see how long I can keep this up this year. I want to try again because BIG changes are in store for me and documenting them will be fun, amazing, and I'm told, necessary.
